We are accepting sign-ups for our entrance exam starting January 5th, 2026 and will continue until the day of the exam, at the end of June 2026.  Once you submit your information, you will be notified by email at the beginning of May with the date of the exam and you will be provided a study guide.  

These are the minimum requirements to take the exam:  

• Age: Must be at least 18 years of age

• Education: Must be a High School Graduate with a diploma or a general education development certificate (GED). Applicants must provide proof at time of apprenticeship written exam.

• Credential: Current California Driver's License or State ID and Social Security Card will be required at the time of apprenticeship written exam.

• Physical Requirements: Applicants must be physically able to perform the physical requirements of the Trade.

• Must successfully be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Classes: Must be willing and able to attend Related Instruction Classes.

• Must be willing to abide by the State-approved Standards accepted by the Apprenticeship Committee.

If candidates pass the exam with a 72% or better, they will then have the opportunity to interview with our board members for admission into our program.
